The Botanical Research Institute of Texas, or BRIT, is a non-profit, international botanical research center based in Fort Worth. Its plant collections and educational programs are open to the public, to help everyone understand the value that plants bring to life. BRIT is a resource for research scientists, students, teachers, plant enthusiasts, gardeners, hospitals, and many others.

      Fort Worth ISD's Science Department Botanical Research Institute of Texas Fort Worth ISD's Science Department Presented by Botanical Research Institute of Texas at Botanical Research Institute of Texas May 16-May 22, 2012 BRIT is delighted to work with Fort Worth ISD's Science Department by hosting their Independent Research Project this May. Eighty students with the very best independent research projects, identified by their teachers, will be invited to showcase their projects in BRIT's Exhibit Hall, where researchers and community members will view their projects. "Bella" is the host of BRIT's family story times. Much more than a hand-puppet, Bella represents a begonia collected by field research botanists in Peru and sent to BRIT as a specimen.

They will reinforce learning strategies for all students using outdoor activities, thinking stations, and inquiry-based investigations, while cultivating their vocabulary gardens.
