Fort Worth Museum of Science and History

During its first 40 years, the Museum was a quiet place where one could dream of the past or contemplate the future in relative solitude. Permanent exhibits included the History of Medicine, Your Body, IBM Calculators and Computers, Rocks and Fossils, Texas History, and Man and His Possessions. All that changed a little over a decade ago. Thanks to collaborations with other museums and science centers like San Francisco's Exploratorium, the Museum began offering large, world-class traveling exhibits that open visitors to new worlds of learning.

      05/15/12- 06/15/12	Freedom Riders Fort Worth Museum of Science and History Freedom Riders Presented by Fort Worth Museum of Science and History at Fort Worth Museum of Science and History May 15-June 15, 2012 The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, in partnership with the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission, is pleased to announce that it will host the national traveling exhibition Freedom Riders, which looks at six months in 1961 when more than 400 courageous Americans-old and young, black and white, men and women, Northern and Southern-risked their lives to challenge segregated facilities in the South.

      Venus Transit Fort Worth Museum of Science and History Venus Transit Presented by Fort Worth Museum of Science and History at Fort Worth Museum of Science and History June 5, 2012 Join them in front of the Museum for safe viewing of the Venus Transit, when the planet Venus passes directly between the Sun and Earth. The Noble Planetarium and Fort Worth Astronomical Society will provide telescopes, solar filters and plenty of guidance. It won't occur again for another 105 years, so don't miss this event!
