Indoor Sculpture
Ralph Helmick's suspended sculpture is located in the lobby of the Nashville Neighborhood Policing District No. 6 and Traffic Division Facility. The piece celebrates the “seven stages of life” and the Poly community, through seven rings of overlapping, profile silhouettes of residents in the neighborhood.
Constructed out of powder-coated steel and aluminum with braided stainless steel cable, the piece measures 28’ x 6’ x 6’. The sculpture is lit at night in a soft, glowing light that slowly cycles from blue to other colors and back to blue over the course of the evening.
Blue Lines by Ralph Helmick was commissioned by Fort Worth Public Art - a program of the City of Fort Worth administered by the Arts Council of Fort Worth & Tarrant County.
